"…The validity of the most commonly used assay (at least in Europe) for the prediction of skin sensitization potential, namely the GPMT, has been examined. The approach taken has been to compare the results in this assay with historical data from a highly sensitive predictive human assay. To the authors' knowledge, this is the only area of toxicology where this opportunity exists to any reasonable degree."
